Viewers

Documents on CPOL and other military web sites are made available in several formats, based on a combination of factors, including the format of the original document, whether the look of the original document needed to be preserved, the availability of visitors to open different formats, and accessibility for those with physical limitations.   This does not constitute endorsement of one commercial product over another. Note our disclaimer for external links.

These free viewer programs are available for download and installation.  Users on military networks should consult your local automation support center to have these programs installed on your computers.

Web Browsers The Army CPOL Web site utilizes javascript and other recent html code techniques.

For the various Microsoft Office files, you can go to the Microsoft Office website at ( http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/downloads/??displaylang=EN) and download a free viewer for each of the following file formats -

Requires MS Word   Word (.doc) - this is a common format for word processing documents.

Requires MS PowerPoint   Powerpoint (.ppt) - this is a common format for presentation documents.

Requires MS Excel   Excel (.xls) - this is a common format for spreadsheet documents.

FTP If you need an FTP program, you can download free FTP software here.

Requires Adobe Acrobat Reader   These files require Adobe Acrobat Reader to view
Requires MS Excel   These files require Microsoft Excel to view
Requires MS PowerPoint   These files require Microsoft Powerpoint to view
Requires MS Word   These files require Microsoft Word to view
Outside web site Indicates information on an outside webserver
