The trees that border the mall of the Memorial Amphitheater are Little Leaf Lindens, (Tilia cordata). There are 22 trees in each of the north and south hedges on the mall. The trees were planted in the early 1980s and have been pruned as an aerial hedge since the late 1990's. The hedge is pruned to the exact measurements of 225' long, 35' high, and 35' wide.
