Although Home Use is permitted in some cases, each software agreement has individual terms of use. For additional terms and conditions, please see the software's End User License Agreement (EULA). Below is a summary of available products with current "Terms of Use":

  • Adobe Acrobat

    The primary user of the Computer on which the Software is installed (“Primary User”) may install a second copy of the Software for his or her exclusive use on either a portable Computer or a Computer located at his or her home, provided that the Software on the portable or home Computer is not used at the same time as the Software on the primary Computer.

  • MacVector
    1. Installation and use.
      1. Install and use a copy of the Software on one personal computer or other device (or on the number of computers/devices for which you have purchased a license); and
      2. Install an additional copy of the Software on a second, portable device for the exclusive use of the primary user of the first copy of the Software.
    2. Alternative Rights for Storage/Network Use. As an alternative to No. 1, you may install a copy of the Software on a network storage device, such as a server computer, and allow one access device, such as a personal computer (or the number of devices/computers for which you have purchased a license), to access and use that licensed copy of the Software over a private network. You must obtain a license to the Software for each additional device that accesses and uses the Software installed on the network storage device.
  • Mathematica

    Licensed per computer. One home use installation per computer. Home Use License are requested via http://www.wolfram.com/siteinfo/commercial/homeuse.cgi

  • SAS

    DHHS may make one additional copy of the PC Software (as defined below) for home use by any then-current DHHS employee who also uses the PC Software at work (“Home Use”) and such Home Use copies shall not count toward the total users or workstations allowed pursuant to this Agreement, provided: (i) each Home Use copy is installed on a personal computer or laptop located in the United States and owned by such DHHS employee; (ii) Home Use is limited to use for DHHS’ purposes by an employee who also uses the PC Software at work; (iii) the operating system of the hardware on which each Home Use copy is installed mirrors the operating system of DHHS’ hardware on which the PC Software is installed; and (iv) the total number of Home Use copies does not exceed the Category A Cap or Category B Cap, as applicable, allowed hereunder with respect to such PC Software. For purposes of this Subsection, "PC Software" means any Standard Product Suite Software licensed for use on personal computers or workstations by DHHS hereunder.

    The following additional terms shall apply to Home Use copies of PC Software.

    1. The identical copyright notice and any other proprietary rights notice found on the original PC Software media must be maintained on all Home Use copies.
    2. DHHS will maintain records of the names of all employees using the PC Software for Home Use and will provide EIS and/or SAS with a copy of such records upon request.
    3. DHHS will inform all DHHS employees authorized to use the PC

    Software for Home Use of the relevant terms of this Agreement, as modified herein, and any related user documentation, and will be responsible for their adherence to such terms.

    DHHS contractors and any other party who is not an employee of DHHS may not use PC Software for Home Use.

  • SPSS

    Two installations for each license, one for a PC and one for a laptop.

  • Microsoft Home Use Program

    The Microsoft Home Use Program is no longer available.

  • SUDAAN

    Per user. The user is allowed to install SUDAAN on their desktop and their laptop and count that as 1 user. These must be installed on the same OS/platform.

  • TIBCO S+

    No secondary use rights. Licensed per computer.

Additional Rights

Certain ISDP software agreements provide additional rights of use. Additional rights of use can be defined in two categories:

  1. Home Use
    • Provides the right to purchase and install software on personally owned computers. A "home computer" refers to a computer that was purchased, leased, rented, loaned or other furnished by a party other than the government.
  2. Secondary Use
    • Provides the right to install a second copy of software obtained through ISDP on a secondary government purchased computer, for your exclusive use.
