National Advisory Council Update

Electronic Platform for NIBIB National Advisory Council Meeting Ushers in New Year

Members of the NIBIB National Advisory Council, Institute staff, and the public will be attending the January 25, 2013, meeting of the NIBIB National Advisory Council without having to leave their own offices and homes. Adobe Connect, a digital conference platform, will be used to interconnect all participants from around the country, eliminating travel costs and saving participants valuable time. The virtual Advisory Council meeting is in compliance with the President’s digital government strategy, which requires federal agencies to utilize mobile and web-based technologies to better serve the public. The URL for the open Council session is https://webmeeting.nih.gov/nacbibopen/

National Advisory Council Members Appointed in 2012

The National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB) appointed three new members to its National Advisory Council in September, 2012:

  • Dr. Bruce Tromberg, Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the College of Medicine, University of California, Irvine and at the Henry Samueli School of Engineering at Irvine, as well as Director of Beckman Laser Institute and Medical Clinic at Irvine.   More ... The NIBIB welcomes its distinguished new members to the National Advisory Council and values their advice on policy and program priorities relating to the conduct and support of research, training, health information dissemination, and other programs, as well as their second-level review for all applications for funding of research and training grants or cooperative agreements by the NIBIB.
