Banking Agencies Modernize Uniform Bank Performance Report (UBPR) By
Moving Production and Distribution Processes To Central Data Repository

The federal banking agencies(1) today announced improvements in the production and distribution of the Uniform Bank Performance Report (UBPR) by transitioning these processes to the interagency Central Data Repository (CDR).(2) Beginning today, UBPR data and reports are available to the public through the CDR Public Data Distribution (PDD) Web site.

The CDR calculates and distributes UBPR data in a more efficient and timely manner and provides users with expanded capabilities. The improvements include the availability of bulk UBPR data at no cost to the public; enhanced customer peer grouping functions; the provision of formula information in a machine-readable, open standard format; and more frequent UBPR data updates. Additionally, the CDR delivers all reports found on the current UBPR Web site, standardizes the format of each report, and significantly expands the range of information provided in the state average report.

The CDR PDD Web site currently provides users with quarterly bank Call Report data. Users of UBPR data will be redirected from the current facility (www.ffiec.gov/ubpr.htm or www2.fdic.gov/ubpr/ReportTypes.asp) to the PDD site (cdr.ffiec.gov/public) automatically.

The UBPR Modernization Project is an interagency effort under the auspices of the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC). Additional project information is available on the FFIEC’s Web site at www.ffiec.gov/FIND under the UBPR Modernization link.

2 In October 2005, the FFIEC implemented the CDR, which was created to streamline how the federal banking agencies collect, validate, manage and distribute financial data. The first phase of the CDR initiative primarily focused on data collected quarterly from banks in the Consolidated Reports of Condition and Income (Call Report). The second phase expands on the current CDR system functionality by incorporating the calculation and distribution of UBPR data.
