    Announcements


    Effective with the March 2013 release for the fourth quarter of 2012, quarterly services estimates will be based on a new sample and published on a 2007 North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) basis. In addition, quarterly services estimates will be revised to reflect new seasonal factors and results of the 2011 Service Annual Survey. For further information on the new sample or the impact of adopting the 2007 NAICS definitions, see our FAQs.

    Estimates from the 2011 Service Annual Survey (SAS) were released on January 29, 2013. The estimates reflect the introduction of a newly selected sample of businesses and are published based on the 2007 North American Industry Classification System (NAICS). The format and structure of the tables containing the estimates as well as the presentation of the tables on the website is improved with this release. Revised estimates based on the 2007 NAICS definitions for years prior to 2007 will be released before the end of February, 2013.
