Footnotes:
(1) Healthy People 2010 did not set an objective for aspirin/non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) use. Because of the potential side effects and complications of aspirin/NSAID use, we did not set an optimistic but realistic goal.
(2) Age adjusted to the 2000 standard population using age groups 25-29y, 30-39y, 40-49y, 50-59y, 60-69y, 70-74y.
(3) The NHANES 1999-2001 questions about aspirin/NSAID use differ from those asked in NHANES III. The large reduction in the percent reporting aspirin/NSAID use in 1999 may not reflect a real trend toward lower use.
