Environmental Stewardship Plan (ESP)
The Environmental Stewardship Plan (ESP) for the Construction, Operation, and Maintenance of Tactical Infrastructure, U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) Marfa Sector, Texas is available for public information and use. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) performed an environmental analysis and prepared the ESP to document environmental impacts associated with the project and to ensure that adverse environmental impacts are minimized, to the extent practicable.

Please note: since the ESP was completed, CBP canceled a Request for Proposal (RFP) to build approximately 6 miles of proposed barriers included in this ESP that are located along the Presidio, Texas border with Mexico because construction proposals were well above the projected budget for the project. CBP is currently looking at alternative designs that fall in line with our cost estimates. CBP will amend the ESP, if necessary, should an alternative design result in additional or different environmental impacts.
