The Dead Sea Scrolls: A Short List of References

Selected by Cheryl Adams and Pablo Calván, Humanities and Social Sciences Division
Material provided by Michael W. Grunberger, African and Middle Eastern Division

Humanities and Social Sciences Division Research Guide No. 8
Washington, DC
May 1993

This bibliography was created to coincide with the exhibition Scrolls From the Dead Sea: The Ancient Library of Qumran and Modern Scholarship, which was on display at the Library of Congress from April 29 to August 1, 1993. Depicted in the banner above is a detail from the Psalms Scroll, one of the items displayed in the exhibit.

The bibliography, which lists resources available at the Library of Congress, is divided into two sections: transcriptions, reproductions, and reconstructions of the scrolls; and secondary sources in Western languages concerning the history of the Qumran community and the scrolls themselves.
