Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has a long history of caring for our Nation's Veterans. Every day, we serve Veterans who have made the sacrifice to defend and support this country and our way of life. Veteran Employment Service Office (VESO) is VA's lead office to attract, recruit, hire, and retain Veterans, particularly severely injured Veterans. Our staff consists of twelve (12) Regional Veteran Employment Coordinators positioned at locations nationwide who provide a host of employment services for Veterans interested in pursuing careers at VA. Services include employment counseling, assistance in identifying transferable military skills (skills matching), qualifications and career assessment, assistance in drafting competitive resumes, instruction in developing comprehensive job search strategies, and direct job placement assistance. RVECs also advocate on behalf of Veterans, promoting the values, work ethic, leadership, dedication, skills, and qualifications Veterans possess, all of which make them ideal candidates to fill any position in the Federal sector.

Since its inception, VESO was designed to be a strategic management program that oversees VA Veteran employment initiatives and manages VA for Vets, its flagship initiative. VA for Vets is a comprehensive career support and management program for Veterans, National Guard, Reserve members and VA employees.

We are extremely proud of the role VESO is playing in promoting the hiring of Veterans and Disabled Veterans in the Federal sector. In fact, VESO will continue to set the bar high to ensure all Veterans with a desire to actively participate in the workforce get the support and assistance they need from VA.
