Quiz: Dealing With Trauma

Exposure to traumatic events early in life can have many negative effects throughout childhood and into adulthood. No matter how hard we try, we cannot always protect our children from such events; however, we can—and must—help them deal with the trauma in order to help restore their sense of security.

1. Trauma may result from a deeply disturbing event with a sudden and unexpected occurrence that causes intense fear even if it does not result in actual physical harm.
