Mr. Stephen D. Wilson, Assistant Inspector General

Mission

To provide critical, customer focused, force multiplier support to the operational components of the Office of Inspector General, enabling those components better to fulfill their statutory duties "to conduct and supervise audits and investigations relating to the programs and operations of the Department of Defense" (IG Act §2(1))

Administration and Logistics Services

The Administration and Logistics Services Directorate's mission is to promote efficiency and productivity within the programs of the Department of Defense, Office of Inspector General, and to provide efficient, effective and courteous administrative support and services.

Human Capital Advisory Services

• Administer progressive and effective human resources programs for the DoD IG.
  
• Develop and implement human resources and capital policies, instructions, and guidelines.
  
• Advise managers and supervisors and inform employees on all aspects of human resources management.
  
• Facilitate the development and implementation of strategic human capital initiatives to build a 21st Century Mission-Ready Workforce

Information Systems

The Information Systems Directorate's mission is to provide accurate and comprehensive direction and guidance in the areas of automated information resources management to all automated data processing customers in the Office of the Inspector General of the Department of Defense.

Security

Ensure that all OIG Components have efficient and compliant processes for the protection of personnel, information, material and facilities.

Training Support

The Training Support Directorate provides professional development support to all OIG DoD components and organizations focusing on the three pillars of the training and education concept model: Knowledge: technical, certification, writing, annual test and evaluations; Competence:  DoD IG mission, OIG process, client awareness, and confidence; Leadership:  management development, teach and train, and reinforce DoD policies and vision. TSD also serves as the chair of the Defense Counsel on Integrity and Efficiency (DCIE) training sub-committee and supports the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency for inspector general training initiatives.
