Kasia Galica is a Health Communication Intern in the Health Communication and Informatics Research Branch (HCIRB) within the Behavioral Research Program (BRP, Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences (DCCPS), National Cancer Institute (NCI). She will be responsible for contributing to the planning and implementation of a multi-pronged NCI collaboration with the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) and the eHealth Initiative (eHI), and will also assist in coordinating Division activities related to a new Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program funding announcement on commercializing evidence-based technologies.

Kasia received a Master of Arts degree in Communication Studies with an emphasis in Health Communication from San Diego State University. Prior to joining HCIRB, Kasia served as an intern at the Institute for Behavioral and Community Health assisting the San Diego Prevention Research Center with their core project called Familias Sanas y Activas (Healthy and Active Families). She has an avid interest in integrative and holistic healing modalities and the study of illness narratives. While in San Diego, she also worked and volunteered for Rock Cancer C.A.R.E.
