Investigations

On June 27, 2012, Kelvin Romello Changur, Airline Transport Pilot, was sentenced in U.S. District Court, Miami, Florida, to three years of probation, and ordered to perform 120 hours of community service for falsifying his Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airman Medical Application and for using a U.S. passport containing the same false information he provided to the FAA.

This investigation revealed that on several occasions, Mr. Changur misrepresented his date of birth to the FAA and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security/Homeland Security Investigations (DHS/HIS), by providing a false date of birth on FAA documents and on a U.S. passport.  Mr. Changur maintained employment with a commercial air carrier utilizing this fraudulent documentation until it was discovered through verification checks done by another commercial air carrier in which he was seeking employment.

This investigation is being worked jointly with DHS/HSI and FAA Security.
