EHR's include patient portal
A core principal of any effective, high quality health care system is that it also be patient centered. Nearly all EHR vendors have the ability to open up a portal showing them their meds, problem list, upcoming appts, after visit summaries etc (vs clinical notes) to patients and this should be a key part of your IT strategy.

Recognize systemic abuse of civil rights at psychiatric hospitals and group homes
Because of cuts, managed care, and the profit motive, people are being abused, retraumatized and even dying because of appalling situations in psychiatric treatment facilities. For-profit companies are using increased political clout to allow this to continue.

Address poverty, unemployment & unbankability for folks w/ psychiatric disabilities
Please note that nowhere in the 8 initiatives is EMPLOYMENT STATUS & POVERTY NOTED (w/ the exception of Strategic Issue #5, Housing n' Homelessness).
People with psychiatric illnesses are the most likely to live in poverty, and those with severe mental illness have up to 85% unemployment rates, higher than any other disability.

More brain research is a necessity for developing evidence-based treatment that is effective.
Anything can be labeled as "treatment", but until it is evidence-based and effective it is of no value.
