The course"Working Safely with Nonhuman Primates" is required for all personnel who are scheduled to begin working with nonhuman primates (NHP). You will learn about the normal behavior of NHP to help you avoid being bitten, scratched, or exposed to pathogens that are transmissible to humans. Special emphasis is given to avoiding exposure to body fluids from macaque monkeys that may contain Herpes B virus. This course requires viewing a video and taking a short quiz. Contact your IC's animal program office to arrange for a presentation.
