  1. Can I drive through the cemetery?
    Vehicular access is controlled at Arlington National Cemetery. Vehicle parking passes are available to family members for gravesite visitation. Download Application For Permanent Parking Pass (PDF).

    If you are attending a funeral, you will need to drive from the administration building or chapel to the gravesite and must provide your own transportation.

    Special vehicle passes are available for individuals with disabilities visiting the cemetery. Please visit the Visitors Information Desk with your handicap parking pass to obtain a special vehicle pass to access the cemetery.

    Tour bus and visiting bus access to the Memorial Amphitheater and Tomb of the Unknowns in conjunction with an event is authorized by exception only and not authorized prior to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday due to funeral services.

    All other visitors who drive to the cemetery will be required to park their vehicle in the Visitors Center parking lot. Ample paid parking is available to visitors at a cost of $1.75/hour for the first three hours and $2.50/hour thereafter.

  2. How do I locate a gravesite?
    To locate the gravesite or niche in the Columbarium of a relative or friend, you may telephone or visit the information desk in the Welcome Center. The telephone number is 877-907-8585. For burials after 1999 you can locate your loved one's grave site on the VA's National Gravesite Locator. Please be sure to select "Arlington National Cemetery, VA" in the "Cemetery" drop down menu on this webpage: Nationwide Gravesite Locator The cemetery is working to ensure all individuals interred or inurned are searchable via this database.
  3. Are there bike racks at ANC?
    Bike racks are located near the Visitors Center. Bicycles are only permitted within Cemetery grounds on Meigs Drive, Sherman Drive and Schley Drive traveling in one direction from Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall (JBMHH) towards Memorial Drive or as otherwise authorized by the Executive Director. Bicyclists may use the route indicated above during the hours of 8 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. from April 1 to September 30 and 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. from October 1 to March 31. Exceptions for bicycle touring groups may be requested in advance and authorized in writing by the Executive Director. Any individual who has an original, permanent family pass may visit a gravesite by bicycle, provided they have the requisite safety equipment (helmet, etc.) and the pass in their possession at the time of the visit.
  4. What is the pet policy at ANC?
    Current Federal Regulations state that pets are allowed as long as they are on a leash or hand held.
  5. Can a friend of the family get a temporary pass to visit a gravesite?
    Yes.
  6. Are there wheelchairs at the Welcome Center for use on weekends?
    No.
  7. Are there lockers available for visitors at the Welcome Center?
    No.
  8. Are handicap accessible vehicles available for Memorial Day and Veterans Day?
    Usually, transportation is provided to visitors with disabilities. The shuttle runs between the Visitors Center and the Memorial Amphitheater from 8 am to 1 pm.
  9. Can a permanent parking pass be used by family members taking a taxi to ANC?
    Yes.
  10. Are tour buses allowed during normal business hours?
    Tour buses are not permitted when services are being conducted.
  11. Is jogging permitted at ANC?
    Jogging as a physical exercise is not allowed at ANC.
  12. Are there currently any sites within ANC that are part of the National Park Service?
    Yes. The Arlington House.
  13. Do large tours need to be coordinated with ANC?
    Yes. Large tours with a lot of buses should be coordinated.
  14. Is there a physical address for the cemetery for use with a GPS?
    Arlington National Cemetery is the physical address and is listed as a point of interest on most GPS systems.
