Activities & Events

The GSC sponsors many activities including weekly social events, holiday gatherings, sports, seminars, community service opportunities, and much more. There are a variety of ways to connect with the GSC and keep current on the latest news and updates on our events:

GSC listserv
The best way to find out what the GSC is planning is to subscribe to the GSC listserv. Sign up now and get up-to-the-minute information on everything the GSC does.

Facebook Page
The GSC Facebook page, Graduate Student Council (GSC) includes pictures of events, links to fun facts for scientists and graduate students and of course, information about who we are and what we do. Just press the ‘Like' button on our page and be instantly linked to the graduate student community.

Google Calendar
The GSC maintains a Google calendar that includes all the GSC events. This calendar allows graduate students to sync with their own calendars and set reminders so they never miss another fun activity. For more information on the Google calendar, contact GSCcochair@od.nih.gov.

LinkedIn Group
The GSC LinkedIn group, NIH Graduate Students, focuses on professional development for graduate students. The group provides a forum for students' questions about transitioning from graduate school into their professional life. For more information contact GSCcochair@od.nih.gov.

Sports
There is a wide range of organized sports for graduate students to get involved in. If you would like more information about what sports are played on which days and how to participate, contact GSCcochairs@od.nih.gov.

GSC Meetings
GSC meetings are held the first non-holiday Monday of each month at 4pm in Bldg 50. Please come to meeting not only to learn what the council is doing but also to offer ideas and suggestions.
