VetNet is promoted on Google’s Main Page -Today

A few weeks ago, an exciting new initiative called VetNet  was launched in collaboration with Google , the Institute for Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse University, and Hire Heroes USA.

Here is a link to a short animated video that gives an overview of the program.

VetNet is a technology-based effort to help veterans, transitioning servicemembers, and military spouses find meaningful employment.  Think of VetNet as a virtual career resource.

Panels, Q&As, and workshops will be hosted via "Hangout" video chats.  It's free and very user friendly.   The panels can be seen live by users and are then archived via YouTube. You can check out one of the previous panels here .

There are three tracks to VetNet :

Basic Training Track : Help Veterans get squared away with resume writing workshops.
Career Connections Track: Participate in video chats with industry experts, and get advice from Veterans eager to share their career experiences.
Entrepreneur Track: Offers college-level business courses to help you turn your idea into a reality.

In addition to this, Phase II of  Fast Track  map has launched, which identifies the 100 fastest growing job markets in America and the key growth industries in those communities.  Now Veterans and military spouses can search for thousands of job opportunities either by industry or geographic region.
