It’s great that you have several hundred datasets listed here on HealthData.gov, but there must be thousands throughout HHS. Let’s get it all out there!

We are getting there! In August 2011, per a mandate by the Secretary, each HHS Agency has selected a Health Data Initiative lead who has participated in a launch of semi-annual data reviews and brainstorming sessions. This individual is the agency’s designated champion to improve public access to information. The first of these reviews took place in November and highlighted data access improvements made over the past 6 months and any efforts planned over the following 6 months. We are working with the HHS data owners and leads to get the data to the public and improve data quality and accessibility to empower innovators and entrepreneurs with new, updated, and emerging data sets that can be used to support new applications and services.
