Joe & Linda – Tustin, CA – Attended 5/12 Anaheim Event
Linda suffered an injury during the Chino Hills earthquake in 2008 and Joe had an accident that required surgery. As a result of lost income due to medical problems and medical bills they filed for bankruptcy in 2008 and fell behind on their mortgage with Chase. They have been working with Chase in an attempt to stay current and decided to attend the event in Homeownership Preservation Event in Anaheim.
"Chase has always taken good care of us and we are extremely grateful for today’s event. Everything seems to be on cue with our modification and we definitely are starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel. The Chase representative we dealt with today was very helpful and even though we’ve been here for a long time today, it was well worth the wait to have some peace of mind," said Joe. - Joe & Linda – Tustin, CA – Attended 5/12 Anaheim Event

Claudia –Moreno Valley, CA – Attended 5/12 Anaheim Event
Claudia heard about HOPE NOW’s event from a friend and made the drive from the Riverside area to attend. She has been working with Homeward Residential since September 2009.
"We were in and out of here in less than an hour and the word from American Home is that we are on target for a loan modification that will effectively cut our monthly payments in half. The event was well organized and professional and the person I met with was able to answer all of my questions. Of course, I didn’t realize that there was an upcoming event in San Bernardino this week until I was on my way here, but I’m glad I made the drive to Anaheim today." - Claudia –Moreno Valley, CA – Attended 5/12 Anaheim Event

Ashraf – Irvine, CA – Attended 5/11 Anaheim Event
Ashraf was in good shape when he purchased his home five years ago, but the economy affected his salary and he found himself two months behind on his mortgage. After submitting documents several times since September to Chase, he heard about the event in Anaheim and came in to talk to a representative.
"I was shocked that I was actually getting the chance to talk face to face with a real, live person. That put me in a good frame of mind immediately. Talking to a live person was huge and I feel like I am getting some closure today. Even though I don’t have a final decision, I feel like everything is now progressing in the right direction. Chase now has my complete application package and I was told that a decision was coming shortly." - Ashraf – Irvine, CA – Attended 5/11 Anaheim Event

Kristine – Glendale, CA – Attended 5/11 Anaheim Event
After her husband’s business suffered a hardship and her job was cut from 12 months to 10 months a year, Kristine and her family feel behind on their mortgage. She was able to get a trial modification from GMAC right away, but when the final package came the payments were larger than she could afford. She found out about the Anaheim event from a friend and was able to talk to a GMAC representative who will be able to have the trial modification application reviewed right away.
"Things have definitely been difficult for the past year, but I feel confident that GMAC will be able to work with us. Coming to this event today was a great decision and I was impressed with the organization and the professional manner in which everyone handled themselves. I wish I could get a decision today on my mortgage, but I have assurances that I will hear from GMAC very soon." - Kristine – Glendale, CA – Attended 5/11 Anaheim Event

Martha – Mission Hills, CA – Attended 5/11 Anaheim Event
Martha found out about the event via a letter from Citi. After her husband lost his job in the construction industry, the family was not able to make their mortgage payments just based on Martha’s work as a dental assistant. Their HAMP trial modification application was rejected, so they reached out to Citi for another solution. Fortunately, Citi was able to pre-approve Martha’s family for a proprietary modification that reduces their interest rate to 2.99% and cuts their monthly payments by more than $800.
"I came here today expected everything to be disorganized and chaotic. However, it was exactly the opposite, and obviously I am incredibly pleased with the result. People need to realize that the banks want to work with them. We were disappointed earlier this year to find out that we were rejected for a government loan modification, but if I hadn’t reached out to Citi and come here today I would have never known that there are other options available." - Martha – Mission Hills, CA – Attended 5/11 Anaheim Event

Helen – Tracy, CA – Attended 6/3 Oakland Event
Helen had been current on her mortgage, yet was making payments without escrow. She recently became unemployed and found herself short on her payments. After several months of back and forth with Chase via the phone, she attended the event in Oakland, CA. After meeting with Chase, she was able reach a solution with a loan modification that will be affordable to her.
"I am happy I came today. There has been a lot of miscommunication on the phone and it was worth the wait to meet face to face with my lender. It definitely paid off to come to this event. I am please with the outcome and glad I was able to get a permanent loan modification." - Helen – Tracy, CA – Attended 6/3 Oakland Event

Lisa – El Sobrante, CA – Attended 6/3 Oakland Event
When Lisa purchased her home, she was able to easily make payments with two incomes. Unfortunately, some of that income was lost in 2008 and she expended the bulk of her savings trying to stay current on her mortgage. With her 5 year ARM about to adjust, Lisa found out about the HOPE NOW event through an article in one of the local weekly papers. She was able to meet face to face with Bank of America and get all of her questions answered. While no decision was reached on site, she was told which documents she was missing and also told that a response would be coming in no more than 15 days.
"This event turned out to be a positive experience. Everyone was helpful and friendly, and the event was very well-organized. The Bank of America rep was very non-judgmental and answered all of my questions honestly and with a smile. I was in and out in just a short time, hopefully with good news. I certainly feel better now than when I first arrived." - Lisa – El Sobrante, CA – Attended 6/3 Oakland Event

Harish – Pleasanton, CA – Attended 6/4 Oakland Event
Concerned about the rising cost of living and some additional family expenses, Harish found out about the HOPE NOW event on the internet and decided to come in and meet with Wells Fargo to discuss any options available to him that would make his mortgage more affordable. He gathered all necessary paperwork and spent a full day researching his situation before coming to the event.
"It was important for me to fully understand my situation and although I waited for a while to speak with a Wells Fargo representative, this was well worth the wait. It makes a huge difference to be able to actually sit down and meet with someone face to face, who can intelligently discuss the options available. The best part was the fact that Wells told me that someone would contact me within a week to review the options available." - Harish – Pleasanton, CA – Attended 6/4 Oakland Event

A friend told her about the HOPE NOW event in Long Island and Alice went ahead and sent Ocwen all of the necessary paperwork before showing up. On site, Ocwen was able to set up a loan modification that reduced the mortgage to a lower percentage, effectively cutting the monthly mortgage payment in half.
"I waited for a long time and the computers went down for a while as well. Luckily, Ocwen was able to get back up and running and they offered me a reduction on my mortgage based on my application. I am very thankful that Ocwen was able to offer me a loan modification I could afford." - Alice – Brooklyn, NY – Attended 4/28 Long Island Event

Harold and Sharon found out about the event in Newsday and came in to meet with a representative from Bank of America. Harold was recently laid off, so the couple is trying to stay afloat in the face of mounting bills. Fortunately, Bank of America was able to offer them forbearance while the couple gets back on its feet, financially.
"We spend of two hours here today and I am please with the result. A 90-day forbearance isn’t ideal, but it certainly gives us breathing room. Additionally, Bank of America told us that they would reassess our situation in 90 days. Most importantly, the rep we worked with was friendly, compassionate, professional and thorough. It made the experience worthwhile for us," said Harold. - Harold & Sharon – Cedarhurst, NY – Attended 4/29 Long Island Event
