See discussion. Discussion This is a repeat of the histology coding question 20031008. I would like to know the correct histology code for these terms under the 2007 MP/H rules. The answer in 2003 was 8316 -- cyst associated renal cell carcinoma. We are seeing cases with these descriptions coded 8316, 8310, 8312, and 8255. What is currently correct? Answer Use rule H5 and assign code 8316/3 for cyst associated renal cell carcinoma, cystic renal cell carcinoma. Use rule H6 and assign code 8255 for cystic renal cell carcinoma, clear cell type.
