They provide direct patient education, as well as conduct therapeutic and pharmacokinetic consulting services. Many of our pharmacists obtain prescriptive authority within their defined scope of practice, and function as providers responsible for direct patient care.

VA pharmacists have the time to be patient focused because we utilize automation and pharmacy technicians to a higher degree. Our pharmacists work in a virtually paperless workplace that includes the automation of our industry-leading Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS), a Bar Code Medication Administration system, and fully automated robotic dispensing systems.
