Adopting New Technologies in the Laboratory: Technology Transition Workshops

Successfully adopting new technologies into a forensic laboratory goes far beyond a simple purchase. Success also must include training on setting up, operating and integrating that technology into existing processes and procedures.

Technology transition workshops facilitate the transfer of new tools and technologies into practice.

The Forensic Technologies Center of Excellence coordinates and implements technology transition workshops as part of NIJ's research, development, testing and evaluation process.

Technology transition workshops respond to the needs and requirements of the practitioner community as identified by NIJ and its Technology Working Groups for general forensics and DNA forensics.
