January 16, 2013

The Department of State’s Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO) has shortlisted nine design teams for the Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Worldwide Major Rehabilitation/Renovation A/E Design Services solicitation.

The shortlisted teams are:

Architecture Research Office
Beyer Blinder Belle Architects
BNIM Architects
CO Architects
Goody, Clancy & Associates, Inc.
Krueck & Sexton Architects
Weiss/Manredi Architects
Clive Wilkinson Architects, Inc.
Zimmer Gunsul Frasca

These firms were selected from 98 prospective offerors. The shortlist of firms presented successful and well-executed building transformations that address the many challenges with renovating and reconfiguring aging facilities. Their portfolios also established the design capabilities of the A/E firm and the lead designer, while demonstrating a commitment to sustainability and integrated design, and showcasing innovation in design technology.

The shortlisted firms will assemble their technical teams and submit detailed information on their organization and qualifications for the second stage of evaluation.

This is one of two IDIQ’s solicited under OBO’s Design Excellence program, which seeks to utilize the best methods, technologies, and staff abilities to produce facilities that are outstanding in all respects.

OBO’s mission is to provide safe, secure and functional facilities that represent the U.S. government to the host nation and support our staff in the achievement of U.S. foreign policy objectives. These facilities should represent American values and the best in American architecture, engineering, technology, sustainability, maintainability, art, culture, and construction execution.
