Food Security

The primary focus of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s nutrition assistance programs is providing food security -- access by all people at all times to enough nutritious food for an active, healthy life. The Food and Nutrition Service, the agency that administers these programs, know that success depends on the strength and range of our partnerships with State and local governments, community organizations and advocates, and everyone else who is concerned about the problem. By working together we can make food security a reality in all our communities -- big and small, urban and rural.

We invite you -- we need you -- to join with us in whatever way you can. Our Food Security Action Resources give you some tools to get started. We hope you find them useful in our combined efforts to bring an adequate and healthy diet to all Americans.
