Description

Mary Cassatt (1844-1926), an American painter, was one of the only women associated with the impressionist movement in France at a time when the profession was dominated by men. Cassatt, long considered one of the most influential female artists, is best known for her paintings of the social and private lives of women, with particular attention to the bond between mother and child. This note card set features two paintings celebrating those ordinary events in women’s lives. Children Playing on the Beach can be found in the collection of the National Gallery of Art, Washington.
