Advanced Compliance Examination School (FDIC Only)
Program Overview
This instructor-led course covers the examination process for 4 specific
areas:
- Unfair and deceptive acts and practices (UDAP);
- CMP's for
significant Flood Insurance and HMDA violations;
- Fair Lending
Pricing; and
- Emerging Issues
Key Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Analyze solicitations, advertisements, disclosures, and bank
practices for potential unfair or deceptive actions or practices.
- Document and support UDAP findings
- Identify significant violations and support civil money penalty
recommendations for flood insurance and HMDA violations.
- Identify red flags and significant violations when conducting
fair lending pricing reviews for both HMDA and non-HMDA reporting institutions.
- Define appropriate action steps when conducting fair lending
pricing reviews for HMDA and non-HMDA reporting institutions
- Provide support for conclusions when conducting fair lending
pricing reviews for HMDA and non-HMDA reporting institutions
- Identify red flags that require initiation of a consultation
with the regional and/or Washington office

This school is four and a half days long.

Target Audience
All levels - Regional review examiners, Fair Lending specialists, field
supervisors, field review examiners, and examiners.
Prerequisites
None.
Pre-Course Assignment
Prior to attending the Advanced Compliance Examination School,
participants must complete three assignments. Two of three
are short reading assignments
while the third involves watching a video taped conference
segment pertaining to UDAP. This information will be provided in the
Pre-course Letter.
