The larger, ongoing clinical trials and programs funded by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) are listed below, along with brief descriptions of each. Some of the obesity-related studies were initiated by NHLBI as contracts or grants whereas others were investigator-initiated and funded through cooperative agreement mechanisms.
