The Active Directory Development and Testing Services provide an environment, tools, and services to assist IT professionals at NIH in developing, configuring, testing, and troubleshooting new applications, and in making changes to existing applications.
For developers who do not need the full AD environment, there is also an LDAP Directory Service.
IT professionals who need these services may request assistance by submitting a ticket through the NIH IT Service Desk.
Customer Benefits
CIT provides a pre-production testing environment that mirrors the NIH production AD environment. We offer AD Scripting as a way to automatically update AD fields when using native tools, and AD Server Roles is used to develop synchronization agreements for external data sources.

Q: As an IT professional at NIH, aside from submitting a ticket to the IT Service Desk, is there anywhere else I can get information about Active Directory development and testing, or other upcoming infrastructure projects?
A: NIH IT professionals are welcome to attend the monthly roundtable held by CIT’s Enterprise Messaging and Infrastructure Branch (EMIB), which covers issues related to NIH-wide messaging and infrastructure projects, including major software upgrades, hardware refresh, and the AD Consolidation projects. The EMIB Roundtable is held at noon on the first Wednesday of the month in the second-floor conference room of building 12B.
