Potential Airport Impacts of Federal "Sequestration"

There have been numerous media reports that mandatory federal budget cuts called “sequestration” could eventually reduce federal agency staffing and inconvenience air travelers. While the airport facilities will continue to operate normally, we are monitoring the TSA, FAA and CBP for specific information regarding passenger screening, air traffic control and customs processing. Click here for more details.

Expanded Schedule of Tour Opportunities for Student Groups

Dulles has added several Saturday sessions to the upcoming schedule of airport tour opportunities for student groups. The "Safety and Security" tour will be offered on these Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.: March 9, April 6, April 27, May 18 and June 8. Other tours are also available to student groups on most Thursdays. All tours must be requested and arranged well in advance. Click here for more information.

TSA Pre✓™ at Dulles

Dulles International is the first airport in the country to have a separate checkpoint dedicated to "TSA Pre-Check." The checkpoint, which offers expedited screening benefits, is centrally located at the rear of the departures (ticketing) level (behind Harry's Tap Room). Eligible TSA Pre✓™ passengers include U.S. citizens flying on participating airlines as well as those who are members of CBP Trusted Traveler programs, including Global Entry, SENTRI and NEXUS. Individuals interested in participating can apply by visiting www.globalentry.gov.

Real-Time Security Wait Times - Click here!

Dulles has a video analytics system that automatically calculates wait times at the Main Terminal’s east and west security mezzanine checkpoints. The wait times are displayed in real time in the terminal and here on the website. Click here to view wait times on your smartphone. Since both mezzanines are connected beyond security, passengers have the option to select the line with the shorter wait.
