The Federal Office of Child Support Enforcement and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) have advised state child support agencies of a significant increase in the number of fraudulent income tax filings resulting in fraudulent tax refunds. The State of Florida is experiencing a high volume of fraudulent tax filings. - Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC)
Many low-income working individuals and families qualify for the federal Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), and do not claim it on their federal income tax return. You could pay less federal tax, pay no tax, or even get a tax refund. January 25th is EITC Awareness Day.
