NCCAM supports a variety of high-quality research training and career development opportunities aimed at increasing the number, quality, and diversity of well-prepared and skilled clinical investigators with knowledge and expertise in complementary health.

How Research Training Supports NCCAM’s Goals

NCCAM’s research-training mission is aligned with the Center’s Third Strategic Plan: 2011–2015—specifically, Strategic Objective 4: Improve the Capacity of the Field to Carry Out Rigorous Research.
NCCAM’s three core research training and career development strategies are:

  • Strategy 4.1: Support a variety of high-quality research training and career development opportunities to increase the number, quality, and diversity of complementary health researchers.
  • Strategy 4.2: Foster interdisciplinary collaboration and partnerships.
  • Strategy 4.3: Collaborate with and leverage the scientific and information resources and activities of other fields, organizations, and countries.
