CN, North America's Railroad, loves what Michigan Tech is doing with its Rail Transportation Program, so much so that the Canadian-based company has donated another half a million dollars to support rail transportation education and research at Tech. 
Contributions to Michigan Tech help fund many important areas, none more so than our students. They receive financial assistance in the form of scholarships and fellowships, often thanks to alumni and friends of Michigan Tech. Generations of Discovery: the Campaign for Michigan Tech is targeting support for students to ensure they can continue their studies here. All the campaign priorities are on the website.
This year's Black History Month events center around the ever-changing role of activism in the ongoing struggle for equal rights. The Black Student Association's annual celebration of African American history and culture is underway, with educational and entertainment events planned—all focused on the changing face of activism.
Michigan Tech is celebrating National Engineers Week, now through Saturday, with fun and informative events all over campus. Events cover everything from launching biodegradable water balloons to a quiz bowl to a Society of Women Engineers presentation, wrapping up with a cardboard sled race on Mont Ripley Ski Hill. There's something for everyone: and then some!
