GOVERNOR WALKER ANNOUNCES DETAILS OF THE CAPITOL CHRISTMAS TREE
Madison—Today, Governor Scott Walker announced additional details about the Capitol Christmas Tree. The 2012 Capitol Christmas Tree was selected from Meyer’s Castle Tree Farm in Medford, Wisconsin.
“The handmade ornaments for the tree made by children across the state will complete the ‘In Wisconsin’ theme,” said Governor Scott Walker. “Wisconsin is a great place to live, work, and raise a family. I’m excited to see all of these great aspects of our state symbolized on this year’s tree.”
WALKER ADMINISTRATION TO COLLECT CELL PHONES FOR SOLDIERS DURING HOLIDAY SEASON
Madison—In honor of the Year of the Veteran, all Wisconsin state government agencies are teaming up again to help our troops call home. Agencies will be collecting for the Cell Phones for Soldiers charity until January 1, 2013.
“Cell Phones for Soldiers is a great way to honor our men and women in service and show our appreciation for all they do for us,” Governor Walker said. “We can all do our part to help our troops stay in touch with their families while they are deployed.”
WASTE, FRAUD, AND ABUSE ELIMINATION TASK FORCE ISSUES QUARTERLY REPORT
Madison—Today, the Waste, Fraud, and Abuse Elimination Task Force, which was created by Governor Walker to focus on unnecessary costs in state government, issued its third quarterly report of 2012. The report includes citizen suggestions and highlights state actions that have helped to save money and make government more efficient.
“The Waste, Fraud, and Abuse Elimination Task Force’s quarterly reports help draw attention to government efficiency ideas brought forward by both taxpayers and state employees,” said Governor Scott Walker.
