Disaster-Specific Resources: Introduction

This Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Disaster Behavioral Health Information Series (DBHIS) installment focuses on disaster-specific preparedness and response. The collection includes an annotated bibliography with links to each resource, as well as a helpful links section, which includes links to organizations, agencies, and other resources that address disaster-specific preparedness and response. The annotated bibliography is organized into three categories: (1) Disaster-Specific Information, (2) General Preparedness, and (3) General Response.

Resources are organized as follows:

  • General Preparedness—Resources on general preparedness that can be applied to any type of disaster
  • General Response—Resources on general response that can be applied to any type of disaster
