Located in the heart of San Juan Metropolitan area, Fort Buchanan offers a full range of morale, welfare and recreational facilities, including a nine-hole golf course and clubhouse, bowling center, sports center, a waterpark, and child and youth programs for all ages. We have three schools, one health clinic, and a welcome center that hosts a variety of one-stop shop organizations. The installation also provides Post Exchange and Commissary services, as well as lodging through IHG Army Hotels.
Since its establishment in 1923 Fort Buchanan has accomplished many missions in support of the Army and our nation. Our key and strategic location provides fast and cost-effective support to Caribbean, Central, and South America's missions. Fort Buchanan represents the Armed Forces in Puerto Rico by serving the Army, Navy, Marine, Air Force and Coast Guard units, as well as other Federal agencies.

PFC Frances M. Vega Gate (1) hours of operation are Monday-Friday 0530 - 1730 hours and Saturday, Sunday and Federal Holidays, CLOSED.
The PX/Commissary Gate (2) will be open 24/7.
Visitor Control Center (VCC) is located at Bldg 670 (by Gate 2) office hours are 24/7. Extended Vehicle temporary pass are issued Monday-Friday from 0700-1800 only.
