CERL's Dr. Charles P. Marsh, a materials scientist in the Materials and Structures Branch, was named 2011 Researcher of the Year by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He is recognized for two major scientific breakthroughs -- a device for nanometer resolution of wet sample imagery for transmission electron microscopes and discovery of a new hierarchical and structural form of carbon.
