This document provides a description of key Medicare provisions in H.R.3962, Affordable Health Care for America Act, as passed by the House of Representatives on November 7, 2009. The document describes the major provisions relating to benefits, Medicare Advantage, the Medicare prescription drug benefits, provider payment reforms, health system reforms, and other Medicare-related provisions. It also includes ten-year cost estimates for these provisions, in billions of dollars, as provided by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) and the Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT). The document will be updated to incorporate changes made throughout the legislative process.
