Working Group Report: Omega-3 Fatty Acids and Cardiovascular Disease

A working group meeting was held on June 2, 2004 to review evidence-based reports on the effects of omega-3 fatty acids on cardiovascular disease and cardiovascular disease risk factors recently released by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) and to advise the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) and Office of Dietary Supplements (ODS) on future directions for research to fill gaps in knowledge on these issues.

Reports from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality

The reports listed below were requested and funded by the Office of Dietary Supplements (ODS), National Institutes of Health (NIH) through the Evidence-Based Practice Center Program of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). ODS will use the reports to assist in the development of appropriate NIH research agendas for omega-3 fatty acids.
