Special Agent Samuel Worth was selected as the Principal Executive Assistant Director (PEAD) for Management and Administration (M&A) in October 2011. 

Special Agent Worth attended Norwich University in Northfield, VT, and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1987 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice.

Special Agent Worth began his career with the former Naval Investigative Service (NIS) in January 1989 at the NIS Resident Agency in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.  He served in a variety of organizational assignments and mission areas, both within the United States and overseas, including as a Special Agent Afloat deployed aboard the USS America (CV-66) (1993-1994), desk officer at NCIS Headquarters (1998-2000) and Supervisory Special Agent of the NCIS Resident Agency in Sigonella, Sicily (2000-2003).

From 2003-2004, Special Agent Worth assumed duties as the Personal Security Advisor to the Secretary of the Navy. He planned and executed all personal protection measures surrounding the Secretary, and personally briefed the Secretary and his senior staff on the criminal, terrorist and foreign intelligence threats associated with his activities and travel. He served as the NCIS Director’s senior NCIS representative on the Secretary’s staff.

From 2004-2005, Special Agent Worth served as the Division Chief for Protective Operations where he directed protection operations for the Secretary of the Navy, the Chief of Naval Operations and the Commandant of the Marine Corps, as well as high-risk missions in Iraq. He served as the Deputy Assistant Director for Protective Operations from 2005-2006.

From 2006-2009, Special Agent Worth served as the Special Agent in Charge of the NCIS Norfolk Field Office.  In this capacity, he led 112 personnel in the execution of all operational and investigative activities in the General Crimes, Procurement Fraud, Counterintelligence, Counterterrorism and Cyber Crimes arenas.

From 2009-2011, Special Agent Worth served as the Executive Assistant Director for the Middle East and Pacific Operations.  He was promoted to Senior Executive Service for this position.  In this capacity, he was responsible for the management and operational direction of seven NCIS field offices, one Security Training Assistance Assessment Team, and numerous subordinate elements located throughout the northwestern and southwestern United States, Hawaii, the Far East, Southwest Asia, the Middle East and aboard carrier strike groups, as well as expeditionary strike groups.

Special Agent Worth served as the Executive Assistant Director for Criminal Investigations from January - October 2011. 

Special Agent Worth’s awards include the DON Distinguished Civilian Service Award from the Secretary of the Navy, and the DON Meritorious Civilian Service Award.
