10 Important Facts about Hydrocephalus

One out of every 1,000 babies born in the U.S. will have a form of hydrocephalus. As for adults, some experts estimate that hundreds of older adults may have normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH), which is often misdiagnosed as being Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, or the beginning of dementia, and many times with no testing.

2009 Hydrocephalus Survey

This is the fourth survey conducted by National Hydrocephalus Foundation in its 30 year history. The results of the survey show that the number of adult hydrocephalus patients (family members, caregiver, etc.) has soared.
