Curation Scientist

We are seeking highly talented and motivated scientists to join the Scientific Curation Team at NextBio. This is a full-time opportunity for accurate, detail-oriented biologists in a rapidly growing biotech company. We have built an innovative web-based platform that enables scientists to easily search for, access, and utilize knowledge locked within the deluge of public and proprietary data paving the path forward for personalized medicine. As part of the NextBio Scientific Curation Team, you will be charged with keeping abreast of the latest developments in genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and other high-throughput technologies and data integration strategies.

This position requires an efficient, self-motivated individual with an ever-vigilant eye for detail who holds that the scientific accuracy of their work is of absolute importance. Responsibilities will include managing and interpreting large sets of molecular data from diverse clinical areas of research from public repositories and the literature, working closely with biocomputing and engineering teams to integrate data into the NextBio platform, and developing and documenting standard operating procedures.

Requirements:

• PhD or Master's plus relevant experience in genetics, genomics, or related fields
• Expert knowledge on current public genomic data resources of the NCBI, UCSC, TCGA, etc.
• Ability to understand, interpret, and manage large sets of clinical and academic research data.
• Strong publication record is a plus
• Strong computer skills are a plus
