Managing Agency Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) http://www.vba.va.gov

Program Description

REAP is an educational assistance program enacted by Congress to provide benefits for persons who are called to active duty for 90 consecutive days or more. The length of the call-up determines the level of benefits. Benefits are paid monthly up to a maximum of 36 months for full-time training. A wide variety of training, college and non-college, is approved for this program.

General Program Requirements

You must serve on active duty as a member of the ready reserve (on or after September 11, 2001) in support of an authorized contingency operation for 90 consecutive days or more. You must maintain your status within the same component of the ready reserve in which you were called to active duty in order to maintain eligibility for this educational benefit program. The Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security (for Coast Guard cases) determine eligibility.
