Emergency Management Institute (EMI) Residential Education Program
Managing Agency U.S. Department of Homeland Security http://www.dhs.gov/

Program Description

The Emergency Management Institute (EMI) Residential Education Program improves emergency management practices among state, local and tribal government managers, and Federal officials, in response to emergencies and disasters. Programs embody the Comprehensive Emergency Management System by unifying the elements of management common to all emergencies: planning, preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery.

Courses in EMI's Residential Education Program are open to the public, but applications are considered based on the target audience of the specific course. Residential Program courses are taught on-site at the Emmitsburg, Maryland facility, and differ from those taught in EMI's Independent Study Program.
