Program Description

The United States Department of Agriculture's Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) plays a vital role in improving the quality of day care homes. The CACFP helps to subsidize the cost of food for day care homes allowing these day care homes to serve meals that are more nutritious. Participating homes receive reimbursement for the meals they serve.

General Program Requirements

For a day care home to be a part of the Child and Adult Care Food Program for Homes the home must be licensed with the Department of Family Services.
