Program Description

The Foster Care program provides Federal financial assistance to states to assist with:

1) Costs of foster care maintenance for eligible children
2) Administrative costs to manage the program
3) Training for staff, foster parents and private agency staff

The implementation of the program may differ by state.

General Program Requirements

In order to qualify for this benefit program, you must be certified to provide 24-hour, substitute care in your home for a child who is under the supervision of a state child welfare agency and who is under age of 18 years.
