HSPD-12 Implementation Plan Summary

• Date of Full Implementation:  August 20, 2009

• As of 8/20/2009, NSF has completed issuance of PIV credentials to all employees and contractors and completed the integration of PIV credentials with physical access control systems (PACS).

• NSF is not required to use PIV credentials with LACS.

Planned Completion Dates:

• Complete issuance of PIV credentials to all employees and contractors - 09/01/09.

• Complete adjudication or verification of background investigations for all employees and contractors - 05/29/09

• Complete integration of PIV credentials with logical access control systems - N/A: NSF is not required to use PIV credentials with LACS.

• Complete integration of PIV credentials with physical access control systems - 09/01/09.

• Issuing PIV credentials to all new employees and contractors as part of the boarding process - 10/27/06.
