New York Child Health Plus (SCHIP)
Program Description
New York State offers Child Health Plus as a health insurance plan for kids. Depending on your family's income, your child may be eligible to join either Child Health Plus A (formerly Children's Medicaid) or Child Health Plus B. Both Child Heath Plus A and B are available through dozens of providers throughout the state. Enrolling in Child Health Plus is easy.General Program Requirements
In order to qualify for this benefit program, you must be a resident of New York, under 19 years of age or be a primary care giver with a children under the age of 19 or be pregnant, not covered by health insurance (including Medicaid), a U.S. national, citizen, legal alien, or permanent resident.Depending on your income level, you may have to pay a premium for coverage.
