Program Description

Kansas HealthWave offers affordable, low-cost health insurance for the uninsured children of Kansas. Some low-income parents may also qualify for health coverage. Applicants are screened for Medicaid eligibility to determine the funding source. You may also be eligible for coverage of existing medical bills.

General Program Requirements

In order to qualify for this benefit program, you must be a resident of Kansas, under 19 years of age, not covered by health insurance (including Medicaid), and a U.S. national, citizen, legal alien, or permanent resident.

Depending on your income level, you may have to pay a premium for coverage. Please see this state's program information for details.

You must also have an Authorization for Release of Protected Health Information on file for each person outside your immediate family who you want to be able to access your case information.
